Our company
“What would you like the power to do?”
At Bank of America, we ask this question every day of all those we serve. It is at the core of how we live our values, deliver our purpose and achieve responsible growth. By asking this question, we continue to learn what matters most to our clients, our employees and our shareholders. It helps us start a conversation centered on our commitment to use our capabilities to help those we serve be successful. Because we recognize that we can only be successful when the individuals, companies, communities and employees we serve are able to reach their vision of success.
Man in meeting
Responsible growth
We are delivering on our purpose to help make financial lives better through our focus on responsible growth.
Our commitment to responsible growth is resolute, and has four tenets:
We have to grow — no excuses.
We have to be client focused.
We have to grow within our risk framework.
And, our growth must be sustainable, which has three elements: driving operational excellence, being a great place to work for our teammates and sharing our success with our communities.
By driving responsible growth, we deliver returns to our clients and shareholders and help address society’s biggest challenges.
Delivering responsible growth
At Bank of America, we are guided by a common purpose to help make financial lives better through the power of every connection.
We’ve transformed Bank of America into a simpler, more efficient company that combines two crucial areas: growing the economy while creating tangible value for our business,
our clients and the communities we serve. We’re helping create jobs, develop communities, foster economic mobility and address society’s biggest challenges around the world.
People in meeting
We must grow and win the market — no excuses
The first tenet of responsible growth is that we have to grow, no excuses.
Our eight lines of business are focused on delivering one company, deepening client relationships and developing new relationships.
We must grow with our customer-focused strategy
We serve three groups of customers — people, companies and institutional investors. In the U.S. we serve all three customer groups, and outside the U.S. we serve larger companies and institutional investors.
As we look across our businesses and the clients they serve, we have a leading set of capabilities in every area where we operate. That is the power of this company; that is the strength of the model and the balance we are striking to ensure we are doing all we can for our customers and clients, while optimizing our balance sheet to perform efficiently with the post-crisis regulations.

We must grow within our risk framework
Managing risk well is foundational to responsible growth. It contributes to the strength and sustainability of our company for the future, and it supports the work we do today to serve our customers, clients, communities and shareholders.
Everyone has a role to play in managing risk. It’s about understanding the risks and reward in all we do to ensure we’re there for our customers, clients, communities and shareholders –in good and bad times. All employees are responsible for proactively managing risk as part of their day-to-day activities through prompt identification, escalation and debate of risks.
Maintaining intellectual curiosity and identifying new risks is fundamental to understanding all the ways we can win or lose. The risks we face change and develop over time, and understanding new risks as they develop is a key part of our business processes.
We must grow in a sustainable manner
We must ensure our growth is sustainable. This requires progress across three dimensions: driving operational excellence, being a great place to work for our teammates and sharing our success with our communities.
Driving operational excellence
Operational excellence is a process of continuous improvement that generates savings and efficiencies that we can then reinvest. By improving the way we serve clients, streamlining our internal processes and creating other efficiencies that stem from the thousands of ideas our teammates generate each year, we are able to invest in our team, our capabilities, our client experience and our communities and shareholders.
Great place to work
This includes being a diverse and inclusive workplace, attracting and developing talent, recognizing and rewarding performance, and supporting our employees’ physical, emotional and financial wellness.
Sharing our success
That includes all we do to drive progress on societal priorities, including those that are broadly defined in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We do this through our sustainable finance efforts, our philanthropy, and how we manage our own activities and expenses.
Business practices
Part of driving responsible growth is maintaining strong guidelines for business practices and professional and personal conduct that all employees, and anyone who acts on our behalf, are expected to adopt and uphold. This translates into the actions we take as we engage with customers, clients, shareholders, suppliers and each other.
Our responsible business practices have a direct, positive impact on two areas critical to our growth: our strength and stability as a global financial institution; and our capacity to meet the financial needs of our clients in all phases of their lives.

Client focus
We want to be a company that people want to do business with. Throughout our eight lines of business, we look for ways to better serve our clients’ needs in a way that upholds the highest ethical standards. We know our clients expect exceptional experiences however they choose to interact with us, and we invest in our people to help us best deliver for those we serve.

Governance
Building and maintaining trust for our clients, employees and shareholders is at the heart of governance at Bank of America. Delivering responsible growth requires an experienced, independent board of directors, skilled management, and clear and effective governance practices.

Risk management
At Bank of America, our success relies on the intellectual curiosity and sound judgment of every employee across the company. That’s why, no matter where we work in the organization, managing risk well is foundational to fulfilling our purpose and values –and to driving responsible growth.
What we offer
Bank of America is one of the world’s leading financial institutions, serving individuals, small- and middle-market businesses, large corporations, and governments with a full range of banking, investment management and other financial and risk management products and services.

Relating locally and working globally
From small towns to sprawling urban centers and everywhere in between, our customers and their lives are as varied as their locations. They’re in every stage of life, pursuing every type of financial growth—and we help them build the financial future they want. We relate to them as neighbors who know their communities, with the ability to draw on our full capabilities to offer precisely the right solutions.
We’re connected to our communities
Every day, we ask our clients, neighbors, co-workers and partners: what would you like the power to do? Whether they want to own a home, start a business, build savings and credit, secure a job or make a difference, we connect communities to the lending, investing and giving they need to remain vibrant and vital.
We know our customers well because we’re part of their communities. That helps us deliver our global capabilities with a local, personal focus.
As part of each local community, we understand its economy, culture, strengths and challenges. We’re able to deliver effective solutions and service by matching the right resources to our clients’ individual needs.

Where we are
Our investment in communities extends even further than our financial center locations across the country. We’re committed to strengthening our communities because they’re our homes, too. Whether it’s supporting local non-profits that help make an impact or lending to small businesses that keep our economy running, we’re committed to keeping our community healthy, stronger and connected.

Market presidents deliver the bank
Our presence in nearly 100 different U.S. markets makes us accessible and knowledgeable for our customers from coast to coast. As part of the local landscape, we’re familiar with an area’s unique traits, as well as its organizations and resources.
Leading the way in these communities are Bank of America market presidents who oversee integrated business teams to ensure we’re delivering the full capabilities of our company to each client in every community, and lead our interactions with countless nonprofit partners.
This helps us lead people and small businesses to the right solutions, education and sources of capital close to home. We often partner with community development financial institutions (CDFIs) and community banks to help families build the financial lives they want and to support small businesses. We collaborate with governments and nonprofits to solve challenges like hunger, affordable housing, greater economic mobility and more. And our employees make a difference by donating their time and treasure to causes they care about.
Serving with eight lines of business
Through our eight lines of businesses, we focus on helping individuals navigate every stage of their financial lives, working with companies—large and small—to drive the economy forward, and providing insights, ideas and award-winning research for institutional investors.
Delivering responsible growth through eight lines of business

The posting lists the location as an “area” and not a specific financial center (for example: Greater Norfolk, VA Area). What does that mean?
This means the role is within a financial center, but the specific financial center has not yet been identified. However, the financial center will be within a 25-30 mile radius of the area. If you’re selected for an interview, the specifics will be shared during that time.
What does “anticipatory” mean on a job posting?
An anticipatory opening falls within the financial centers only and is open for the entire market in which you post. If you are offered a position, you will train at one center, and then potentially move to another location within a 25-mile radius.

I feel I am qualified but was not invited to interview. What can I do to enhance my current experiences to increase my chances of getting an interview for this role in the future?

What is the salary range for the role?
Compensation for roles is determined by reviewing what the market pays for jobs with similar skills, responsibilities and scope to ensure competitiveness, as well as reviewing internally what the bank pays for these jobs. If you are selected to move forward in the hiring process, compensation will be discussed in further detail if an offer is presented.
