Submission Guideline
The 2025 International Conference on Human Rights: Youth in Asia (2025 ICHR) is co-organized byEast Asia Young Scholars Association (EAYSA),Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) Tokyo, and theGraduate Program on Human Security (HSP)andResearch Center for Sustainable Peace (RCSP), the University of Tokyo(hereafter the “Organizers”).
Young scholars of all academic backgrounds are encouraged to submit their abstracts featuring original research in Asian human rights issues or original research that have significant implications for human rights development in East Asia.
Those submitting abstracts should complete the Submission of Abstracts Form. Submissions by email will not be considered.
Full-length papers or multimedia submissions will not be considered in place of an abstract.
Abstracts must be submitted in .doc or docx format. Submissions in other formats will be returned.
Abstracts will be unique to each submission, but it is generally recommended that the content include an introduction, summary of methodology and findings, as well as a conclusion. If the nature of your research does not align with this format, be sure to emphasize the main objectives and relevant components of your research.
Abstracts may be submitted in either English or Japanese. Abstracts in English should be between 400 and 800 words, while abstracts in Japanese should be between 800-1400 words.
References may be submitted in any style or format, as long as it is consistent throughout the manuscript. References will not be included in the word count.
Priority will be given to abstracts that showcase original research and academic rigor.
By submitting your abstract to this Conference, you have agreed to our terms, conditions, and privacy policies. Applicants must also be aware that accepted abstracts may be digitally published by the Organizers for the conference.
Given that this event will be held in a hybrid format, accepted applicants may freely choose whether to join the conference in person or online. However, we strongly encourage participants to join us in person.
You must submit your abstract by the designated deadline. The submission deadline can be checked on the Submit Your Abstract page. You are strongly encouraged to submit your abstract in advance.
All submitted papers are subject to a double-blind peer review process.

By submitting an abstract to the 2025 International Conference for Human Rights: Youth in Asia, the applicant agrees to all of the following terms and conditions:
The applicant agrees that they are submitting their own original work. Plagiarism of any kind is not tolerated. If the applicant submits an abstract on behalf of an organization or cohort of authors, the applicant agrees that they have received the consent of any and all previous co-authors to submit and represent their work.
The applicant also agrees to materially confine their presentation to the contents provided by their abstract if selected to present. If the applicant wishes to remove their abstract from consideration, they must do so, in writing, no less than a month prior to the conference dates.
The applicant understands that the contact information provided is their own and consents to be contacted by 2025 ICHR Task Force about the status of their abstract and presentation.
The applicant permits the Organizers to digitally publish submitted abstracts in official event proceedings for the conference. The Organizers will publish submitted abstracts in full as provided by the author(s). The Organizers are not responsible for spelling and language errors in the submitted abstracts. The author(s) of the abstract agree that they are the sole owners of, or have all necessary rights to submit the abstract for publication by the Organizers of 2025 ICHR, and that publication of the abstract does not infringe any intellectual property rights of any third parties.
