On October 25, the 2025 World Young Scientists Summit, jointly hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, was held in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. Nearly 800 representatives, including young scientists, venture capitalists, and entrepreneurs from over 47 countries and regions, as well as more than 70 international scientific organizations, attended the event. Feng Shenhong, Deputy Party Group Secretary, Vice Chairman, and Secretary of the Secretariat of the China Association for Science and Technology, and Wang Cheng, Deputy Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, along with Donald Bruce Dingwell, Foreign Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered speeches at the summit. Zhang Zhenfeng, Deputy Governor of Zhejiang Province and Secretary of the Wenzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, gave a keynote introduction, while Lu Shan, Deputy Governor of Zhejiang Province, presided over the summit. Several Nobel laureates and academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, among other domestic and international experts, attended the general assembly and sub-forum activities.
The China Youth Science and Technology Forum has consistently implemented the spirit of President Xi Jinping's congratulatory letter at its first session, dedicating itself to strengthening science, technology, and humanities exchanges and fostering youth innovation and collaboration. During the plenary session, the third Sustainable Development Young Scientist Award was announced and a ceremony was held to present the awards. Young scientists were invited to deliver flash reports. The Global Status of Early Career Young Scientists' Growth and Development Survey and the Research on the Distribution and Mobility of Young Scientists in the Global Artificial Intelligence Field were released. The World Young Scientist Innovation and Entrepreneurship Growth Support Program was launched, and a World Young Scientist Summit Venture Fund Alliance was established.
This Youth Science and Technology Conference is one of the series of events under the Chinese Association for Science and Technology's Open Cooperation Month in 2025. Centered on the theme Gathering Global Talents to Create a Brighter Future, it established the annual topic Embracing Transformation: Young Scientists Shaping the Future. The conference organized 11 parallel forums titled Young Scientists Take the Lead, including the Young Science and Technology Talent Cultivation Project—Postgraduate Special Program: Bird Forum. These forums focused on three key areas: cutting-edge frontier technologies, the growth and development of young scientists, and the deep integration of technological innovation with industrial innovation. Additionally, events such as the Gravityπexhibition and regional integration activities were held.
